The story is interesting, the illustrations are vivid and some take the whole page with the words written right across the forest. This comic was themed to delve into the early career of the Dark Knight, but as the series progressed it sometimes shared continuity ties to the other Bat-comics, like "Detective Comics," "Batman," and "Batman: Shadow of the Bat (which was published from 1994-2000 for 95 issues). This is a beautiful book on South Africa, but I was surprised to find it to be a small size book. There was no indication of it's size when I purchased it from the Amazon.com web site, so I assumed it was a basic coffee table size book. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to Lawrence’s next book. Why this female author went haring off after a male farmer instead of a female, I don't know. She captured the voice of a young boy becoming a man and used the southern dialect in such a way that I fell into it.
